An avid sportsman, both in participation and as a supporter, I love trying all sporting challenges from rugby to golf to hiking to triathlons. I completed my first triathlon at Hever Castle and shortly after found my way into running the London Marathon. Injury hampered training, inflicting the most hurt on my time however I would have crawled over the finish line if I had to!
With the unfaltering support of KET trustee, Ben Brownless, I participated in a 500km cycling round trip from Oxted to Beaumont Hamel (France) in honour of VC recipient Lt Geoffrey Cather, a former pupil of Hazelwood School, Oxted.
As a teacher I believe in the importance to continue learning and pushing myself, setting a positive example for the pupils to follow. Everyone has their 'Everest' to climb, one day I'll reach those lofty heights, but a great part of reaching such a goal is the moments in between. The Ride-100 has been on the to-do list for quite some time and it's an added bonus to be able do it in such a wonderful part of the country.
