This is the second year I am riding the Prudential 100 to raise money for the Kohima Educational Trust, a charity that provides educational scholarships for the children of Naga tribespeople in Kohima. The Trust was set up by British ex-service personell in recognition of the support given by the Naga people to the British Army during the battle of Kohima in 1944, during which my father's older brother Charlie was killed while serving with the Royal Norfolks, so I feel I have a personal connection to the charity. This year I am doing the 100 mile ride on a tandem with Haren Thillainathan, who is a blind para-triathlete and member of my triathlon club, Windrush Tri. I will be Haren's pilot and he will be my 'stoker'; if we end up in a Surrey hedge it will definitely be my fault! Haren and I have been practicing on the tandem in recent weeks, including the iconic Box Hill climb featured in the Pru 100.
