25 women were invited to attend the three- day course where they are taught basic healthcare. Top of the list is maternal health, antenatal care,the importance of giving birth in hospital , giving injections, taking temperatures and blood pressure. They are taught to recognise symptoms of Diabetes and common local prevalent diseases.
Each lady is given a kit at the end of the course to take back to their village. The kit contains a blood pressure check machine, Aqua check for Diabetes, weighing machine and thermometer.
These sessions are held annually with the next one planned for January 2020. It costs £200 per person for the training, which includes the medical kit.
