The KET is delighted to announce we are entering a partnership with the Eleutheros Christian Society (ECS), a Naga NGO who are based in Nagaland.
We are commencing a three-year agreement to fund a Mobile Teaching Unit (MTU), which will be provided by the ECS. The MTU will deliver rotational on-site support to ten villages in the poorer and more remote Northeast regions of Nagaland. The MTU will focus on the teaching of maths and science, with the goal of ensuring that every child in the ten targeted government middle schools attains grade level numeracy and science literacy.
The initial three-month process of establishing the MTU is under way and it will be launched at the end of February 2026, the start of the local academic year. The three-year programme is targeting notable academic improvement in the maths and science skills of over 900 children aged between 8 and 14 years old.
Dr Chingmak Chang, Secretary, Eleutheros Christian Society (ECS) says: "At ECS, we see education not merely as a service but as a bridge of hope for children who have grown up at the very edge of opportunity. This partnership with the Kohima Education Trust brings that hope closer to home for the 900 children in Eastern Nagaland who too often study without teachers or resources.
The Mobile Teaching Unit will make science and mathematics come alive in villages where learning has long been hindered by remoteness. We are deeply grateful to the founding veterans of KET, whose legacy of courage and service continues to open doors for our children. Together, we are planting seeds of confidence, curiosity, and possibility in the next generation.”
Angus Barclay, Chairman of KET says: "I am thrilled that the KET and ECS have established this new partnership, which will benefit over 900 children aged between 8 and 14, in the most disadvantaged areas of Nagaland. The Mobile Teaching Unit will support ten schools in remote Eastern Nagaland, where there is a scarcity of teachers, particularly for mathematics and science. We are delighted that this project will further the work of KET and fulfil the aims and ambitions of our founding veterans."
